You can (almost) always get a granted patent - but what's it really worth
News of the amendment of Amazon's recent re-examined one-click patent seemed to surprise some commentators. This is pretty standard, really. It underscores a point about patent claim breadth and the consequent value generated. If the specification is drafted carefully and with sufficient detail, then you can usually get a granted patent at the end of the day. So, investors beware, and check the breadth of those claims.
