Second Life - 1st IP Case?
Further to my recent post, on Friday 6 July, Warwick Rothnie's excellent blog (IP War's) reported a copyright suit brought by a Second Life Resident (Mr Alderman) in relation to products sold by him in Second Life. The Reuters report included the results of an in-game interview with the alleged infringer - Volkov Catteneo in which he confidently stated that he would be hard to track down - not having a permanent address, even in real life. Linden Labs, who runs Second Life, will be embroiled via subpoena from Mr Alderman's attorneys. 'Reality' really is stranger than fiction.
