IP Value extraction - a shortlist of methods
A not for profit called 'The Center for Advanced Technologies' set up a group called the 'National Knowledge & IP Management Task Force' (or K & IP Task Force). They published a book in 2007 - called 'Business Power - Creating new wealth from IP Assets' which is worth a read. The book includes a list of IP Value extraction strategies and scores them. Here's the list, what would you add? - Donation;
- License in;
- License out;
- Cross license;
- Sale / assignment and license back;
- Abandonment;
- Spin-out;
- IP for equity; and
- Litigation
